A Spirit Awards egy non-profit szervezet, ami a legjobb független-filmeket díjazza. A jelölteket 277 film közül választották ki idén, a felhozatal baromi jó.
A kategóriák szerintem tök különlegesek, a legszélesebb szkálán mozognak: díjazzák a félmillió dollár alatti költségvetésű filmeket, az elsőfilmeseket és a legjobb international filmeket is - egyébként szerintem ebben a mezőnyben vannak a legjobb filmek, igen figyelemre méltó főleg, az Egy elválás története, a Shame és a Melankólia.
Továbbá amiket láttam és meleg szívvel tudom mindenkinek ajánlani az a Drive, Beginners, a Win Win (!), a Margin Call és a Hello Lonesome. Mind a négy szenzációs és kár lenne lemaradni róluk. A dokumentumok is érdekesek: Bill Cunningham New York és a We Were Hererel már találkozhattunk az Oscar-jelölések kapcsán is, őket is érdemes lenne lecsekkolni.
Az igazat megvallva ez az egész jelölt-lista Én vagyok:) A legjobb filmek jelöltjeiről már ne is beszéljünk...
